President Trump was pushed by ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos on whether he looked for the elimination of Special Counsel Robert Mueller and why he didn’t address concerns from Mueller about obstruction.
At one point during the testy exchange, Trump implicated Stephanopoulos of “being a little wise guy” with the line of questioning.
” Wait a minute. I did respond to questions. I addressed them in composing,” Trump said, after being asked by Stephanopoulos why he would not answer concerns face to face from Mueller’s investigators.
Stephanopoulos addressed, “Not on blockage.”

” George, you’re being a little wise man, OK, which is, you understand, typical for you,” Trump said.
” Just so you comprehend. Really simple. It’s very basic. There was no criminal offense. There was no collusion. The huge thing’s collusion. Now, there’s no collusion. That implies they set, it was a setup, in my viewpoint, and I think it’s going to come out.”

Earlier in the interview, Trump said it “doesn’t matter” that his former White Home counsel Don McGahn informed Mueller that Trump wanted Mueller eliminated over an alleged dispute of interest.
” The story on that very simply, No. 1, I was never ever going to fire Mueller. I never ever recommended firing Mueller,” Trump stated, adding McGahn “might have been puzzled” when he affirmed to Mueller.
