5 months after an antisemitic gunman killed eleven Jews at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, the worst attack on Jews in American history, the Democratic Party is having a hard time to condemn antisemitism.
Home Democrats were to have actually voted Wednesday on a resolution on antisemitism, after first-year Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) used what Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY) called a “vile anti-Semitic slur” to assault pro-Israel associates. But even after the resolution was watered down to include anti-Muslim bigotry, some anti-Israel Democrats rejected it.
Now a new resolution is being drafted by Omar’s own committee– one that will apparently condemn “all hate.”
Democrats can not bring themselves to use an easy, uncomplicated condemnation of the hatred of Jews. Nor can they discover the political nerve to penalize Omar, who has consistently used antisemitic rhetoric even after objections from party leaders and intervention by her own constituents.
Yet Democrats continue to advise the American individuals that President Donald Trump stated there were some “really fine individuals” on both sides in Charlottesville in August 2017.
Democrats, and their media allies, like to pretend Trump was speaking about the neo-Nazis and white supremacists.
In fact, as the records (seldom quoted) reveals, Trump was discussing serene protesters who came to Charlottesville to oppose, for historic reasons, the elimination of a statue of Robert E. Lee. He was also discussing tranquil left-wing protesters who pertained to oppose the neo-Nazis.
Furthermore, In the exact same interview where he used the phrase “extremely fine individuals,” he condemned the neo-Nazis and white supremacists a number of times, and called the murder of counter-protester Heather Heyer an act of horror.
Yet Democrats and the media pretend otherwise.
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) declared wrongly on CNN in January that Trump responded to Heyer’s murder by stating “there were equal sides to this.” CNN’s own Chris Cuomo utilized a deceptively edited clip of Trump recently to make it appear as though Trump had praised torch-bearing neo-Nazis.
Today, in genuine time, we see Democrats struggling to condemn the hateful views that those neo-Nazis and white supremacists show Ilhan Omar. She, like they, think that American politicians who support Israel are bribed to do so, or that they have sworn “obligation to a foreign nation.” Previous Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke has been applauding Omar effusively on Twitter for informing the “fact” about Israel and its supporters.
Has CNN required that Omar, or the Democrats, “disavow” David Duke? They hardly bring themselves to vote versus what Duke thinks.
And yet we will continue to hear fake news about Trump and Charlottesville.
