Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Monday evening ratcheted up her attacks on the Trump administration’s immigration policies, referring to President Donald Trump as a “fascist” operating “prisoner-of-war camp” on the U.S.-Mexico border.
” That is precisely what they are. They are concentration camps,” Ocasio-Cortez said of migrant holding centers throughout a Q&A live-streamed on Instagram. ” The truth that prisoner-of-war camps are now an institutionalized practice in the Home of the Free is extremely disturbing and we require to do something about it.”
The self-avowed Democratic-socialist then voiced her passion to get in touch with others ” who are worried enough with humankind to say that ‘never ever again’ means something.”
The expression “never ever again” is strongly connected with Holocaust remembrance.
Throughout another part of the live-stream, the 29- year-old freshman lawmaker alerted her followers that “we are losing to an authoritarian and fascist presidency.”
” I don’t utilize those words gently,” she continued. “I do not utilize those words to simply throw bombs. I utilize that word since that is what an administration that develops concentration camps is. A presidency that produces concentration camps is fascist, and it’s extremely challenging to say that.”
” The truth that prisoner-of-war camp are now an institutionalized practice in the home of the free is extraordinarily troubling, and we need to do something about it,” she included.
In November, Ocasio-Cortez dealt with blowback after comparing asylum candidates to Jews getting away Nazi Germany during The Second World War, trying to make the point that neither was a “crime.” “Asking to be thought about a refugee and looking for status isn’t a crime,” the congresswoman composed on Twitter. “It wasn’t for Jewish households fleeing Germany. It wasn’t for targeted families running away Rwanda. It wasn’t for neighborhoods getting away war-torn Syria. And it isn’t for those running away violence in Central America.”
Asking to be thought about a refugee & obtaining status isn’t a crime.
It wasn’t for Jewish families fleeing Germany.
It wasn’t for targeted households getting away Rwanda.
It wasn’t for neighborhoods getting away war-torn Syria.
And it isn’t for those fleeing violence in Central America. https://t.co/qhv7Rr1itn

Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks came as President Trump vowed to deport millions of unlawful aliens in a series of tweets.
Ahead of releasing his 2020 re-election campaign, the president stated that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will next week “start the procedure of eliminating the millions of prohibited aliens who have illegally found their way into the United States.”
” They will be gotten rid of as quick as they are available in,” he included.
… long prior to they get to our Southern Border. Guatemala is preparing to sign a Safe-Third Arrangement. The only ones who won’t do anything are the Democrats in Congress. They should vote to eliminate the loopholes, and repair asylum! If so, Border Crisis will end rapidly!
