Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) declared she is a “consensus home builder” in the same60 Minutesinterview in which she stated there is “no question” that President Donald Trump is a “racist.”
” The president definitely didn’t create racism. However he’s definitely given a voice to it and broadened it and created a platform for those things,” she stated in the interview that aired on Sunday. “When you look at the words that he utilizes, which are historical pet whistles of white supremacy. When you look at how he responded to the Charlottesville incident, where neo-Nazis murdered a woman, versus how he produces crises like immigrants seeking legal sanctuary on our borders, it’s– it’s night and day.”
CBS released more clips of the interview for its60 Minutes Overtimesector, and Ocasio-Cortez said she considers herself more of a “agreement contractor” than a “flamethrower,” declaring she is a “far more sensible individual than individuals” think.
” I think the reality of what I am is an agreement contractor,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And I like to think that I’m convincing, and so I believe a great deal of that work is going to be on structure relationships and trying to persuade and speak with my associates on developing a progressive program for the celebration.”
The day prior to the interview aired, Ocasio-Cortez stated she had fellow freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s “back” after Tlaib informed left-wing activists on her very first day in Congress that she was going to “impeach the motherf ** ker” in the White Home.
