Outgoing National Security Consultant John Bolton stated he used his resignation to President Donald Trump on Monday, putting his account at odds with the president, who revealed Tuesday that he purchased the senior White Home official to step down.
” I offered to resign last night and President Trump stated, “Let’s talk about it tomorrow,”” Bolton wrote on Twitter.

Earlier Tuesday, President Trump announced he had fired Bolton and prepares to name a replacement next week.
” I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer required at the White Home,” the president composed. “I disagreed highly with numerous of his suggestions, as did others in the administration, and for that reason I asked John for his resignation, which was offered to me this early morning.
… I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me today. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week.

President Trump hasn’t elaborated on what resulted in Bolton’s termination, however internal strife over a canceled strategy to host Taliban mediators at Camp David might have been an element, CNN reported.
