Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s previous individual lawyer, sat down for an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos after pleading guilty to two project finance offenses of facilitating hush money payments to women who declared an affair with the president prior to his campaign.

In the interview, Cohen said he felt like he now has his flexibility back and he is now “with the lying.”

Partial records as follows:

STEPHANOPOULOS: So what do you state to individuals– and you understand there are a lot of people will be seeing who are thinking, “But wait a second, he lied for so long why should our company believe him now?” What’s the response to that?

COHEN: What do you suggest, “lied”? Lied about what? At the Trump company, it is a microcosm of even simply a New York property market. What do we lie about? It’s New york city property, yes, it is the greatest item ever developed, is that a lie?

STEPHANOPOULOS: But you pleaded guilty to lying to Congress.

COHEN: Yes.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So why should our company believe you now?

COHEN: Due to the fact that the unique counsel specified emphatically that the info that I offered to them is reliable and helpful. There is a significant quantity of information that they possessed that corroborates the fact that I am informing the fact.

Stephanopoulos: So you’re finished with the lying?

Cohen: I am done with the lying. I am done being faithful to President Trump, and my first commitment comes from my spouse, my daughter, my boy and this country.
