A BuzzFeed News world editor dealt with backlash Sunday for taking a swipe at President Trump while tweeting a short article about the attacks in Sri Lanka on Easter.

” Suspect we ‘d be hearing a lot more outrage from Trump and co. if the Christians killed in Sri Lanka were white,” Miriam Senior citizen tweeted with a link to BuzzFeed News.

Elder’s tweet, as The Washington Inspector reported, got many more remarks than likes or retweets. It had gotten almost 3,000 responds, 70 retweets and 170 likes as of Sunday night.

Many of the commenters asked why the BuzzFeed News world editor would politicize the terrorist attacks.

When called by Fox News, BuzzFeed News responded: ” No comment from us.”

Trump on Easter early morning provided condolences to the people of Sri Lanka. The president tweeted about the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, stating “we stand prepared to help!”

More than 200 people were eliminated and hundreds more wounded in 8 bomb blasts that rocked churches and high-end hotels in or near Sri Lanka’s capital on Easter Sunday– the deadliest violence the South Asian island nation has seen considering that a bloody civil war ended a years ago.

Nobody has actually claimed duty for the attacks; Sri Lanka’s defense minister described the battles as a terrorist attack by religious extremists.
